Northstar provides comprehensive delegated design for specialized MEP systems and structural components requiring detailed engineering beyond the base design documents. Working from the Engineer of Record's performance criteria and coordinated project information, our in-house mechanical and structural engineers define the complete load path from the operating system to the building structure.

We prepare project-specific calculations, layouts, details, and sealed submittals for pipe stress and support systems, seismic and vibration restraint, equipment anchorage, support steel, connections, foundations, and related structural components.

Northstar provides seismic and vibration engineering for distributed MEP systems and equipment, converting project criteria into coordinated restraint, anchorage, and isolation designs. Services include seismic and wind calculations, bracing and restraint layouts, spring-hanger selection, vibration-isolator sizing, equipment anchorage, 3D model coordination, point-load schedules, and sealed design packages.

We evaluate seismic demand alongside gravity loads, thermal movement, building drift, equipment displacement, and isolator deflection.
